In a [recent tweet](https://twitter.com/metasdl/status/1099890143194951680), [Purav Patel](https://twitter.com/metasdl) asks if there exist applications of 3D printing to replicate materials used in public research.

Does anyone know of any? Would you find such applications potentially useful for your research? I can come up with some weird examples, e.g., replicating the plastic feces used in [this study](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21432687) investigating attentional orienting towards stimuli that would alleviate disgust elicited by specific objects 😁
