Renard Siew

Warm welcome to IGDORE, Renard Siew!

Renard is Advisor to CENT-GPS where he is responsible for advancing the organisation’s work in the field of sustainable supply chains, design of green buildings and climate change.

He has served on the Climate Change and Disaster Risk Management Working Committee and was Co Chair of UNEP-FI’s Collective Commitment on Climate Action. He is also a member of the World Economic Forum Expert Network and serves as the first Community Champion for Southeast Asian Global Shaper hubs. Renard has guest lectured at Monash University and is an Industry Advisor for both Xiamen University and Inti University.

Prior to this, he was a postdoctoral teaching fellow and a researcher at the Centre for Energy and Environmental Markets (CEEM) where he has contributed thought leadership in the following research areas: sustainability/ integrated reporting, ESG integration, socially responsible investment (across different asset classes: equities, infrastructure and property/real estate), climate change and sustainable construction for the building/infrastructure sector. In 2013, he was selected as one of 15 international scholars to attend the PhD Academy at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH). He has published in many international refereed journals. In 2014, he won a Highly Commended Paper award by the Emerald Literati Network and was inducted into the Global Young Academy (GYA).

He was the recipient of the Cambridge Bursary Scholarship, Alasdair Ross Goobey -Hermes Scholarship, Brookfield Multiplex Engineering Management Prize and the Australian Conferences Management Education for Engineers Award among others. For his work in sustainability, he was named one of Asia’s 21 Young Leaders by Asia Society, a Young Leader by the World Cities Summit, Malaysia’s Top 10 Most Inspiring Green Warriors and was listed as 50 most prominent Green Warriors by Asia Tatler.
