My first name is pronounced ‘GAR-kay’. I’m a PhD candidate in the Department of Politics & International Studies at the University of Warwick. My research focuses on the ethical and political issues in mitigating the risk of very large earthquakes.

My particular interests relevant to IGDORE are in the relationship between science and public policy, broadly construed. I have more general interests in social and political philosophy, political theory, applied ethics and disaster risk reduction.
