Jens_Oldeland

Jens studied botany, soil science and genetics and did his diploma thesis in 2004 on habitat modelling of plant species in the High Atlas, Morocco. Then he started his PhD in 2005 and finished in 2010 on the topic of hyperspectral remote sensing of plant diversity. After that, Jens worked as post-doc and later became assistant professor at the University of Hamburg in Germany. Since 2020, he is working as a freelancing environmental data scientist and provides to academia, ministries, NGOs and industry in order to support their projects on nature conservation and environmental protection.
