There has been a rise of grad-school esque groups doing research in various fields; usually grassroots, sometimes made by independent researchers, helping people who couldn’t or didn’t go to gradschool (or even uni!) to do science. It’s most common in compsci fields (considering you only need a computer to do research), but i have seen some groups in math,humanities,and even a real life lab for the hard sciences.Its being turned into a book right now (probably like a month or 2 left of work) but thought I’d share
